Student Visa (Stamp 2)

Study

Full-time study in Ireland with part-time work rights during term and full-time in holidays.

Enrolled on an ILEP-listed full-time course
Proof of funds: minimum €10,000 for the year
Private medical insurance for the stay
Tuition fees paid in full before application
English proficiency (IELTS 6.0+ or equivalent for degree programmes)
Work limited to 20 hrs/week in term; 40 hrs/week in June–Sept & Dec–Jan

An Employment Permit grants the right to work. A Category D Entry Visa grants the right to enter Ireland. Both must be applied for separately.

IRP Registration

Register for your Irish Residence Permit (IRP) within 90 days of arrival. In Dublin, at Burgh Quay (appointment required). Outside Dublin, at your local GNIB office.
